Our client, a well established public accounting firm, downtown Toronto, has an immediate need for a CPA designated Senior Staff Accountant
Roles and Responsibilities
- Interact with clients and handle correspondence
- Confident and credible in both client and staff interactions
- Develop an understanding of client businesses and diagnose needs/opportunities and suggest solutions
- Assume ownership of client files and proactively ensure files are completed in an efficient and effective manner
- Written communication skills required for memos, management letters and financial statement notes
- Ensure all client issues are resolved in a timely manner
- Keep abreast of competition’s offerings
- Actively promote new service capabilities to clients
- Prepare engagement budgets, analyze fieldwork time vs budget, and identify opportunities for additional billing
- Perform detailed review of own work as well as that of junior team members
- Ensure effective utilization rate of team members
- Share and transfer knowledge with team members, mentor staff and promote positive morale
- Supervise small teams of professionals and technicians, and manage workflow
- In-depth knowledge of ASPE and IFRS
- Working knowledge of corporate and personal taxation
- Ability to complete assurance files with minimal supervision
